AchieveNI has programmes in place specifically designed for schools, communities, business and church organisations to heighten awareness in a critical and growing area of concern in Northern Ireland.
Aspects of the Programmes focus on:
In the programme around resolving unhealthy relationships, the participants discover and explore their experience of creating and maintaining personal space, establishing and protecting healthy boundaries, assertive communication strategies, recognising what ‘healthy’ and ‘unhealthy’ relationships look like and the value of wise choices.
Aspects of the Programmes focus on:
- The primary indicators of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, sexual, financial /neglect)
- The causes underlying domestic abuse and features around common triggers that fuel patterns of abuse
- Traumatic reactions of fight / flight / freeze
- Safeguarding responses at individual and community level
